Shows in the White Room
February
Liz Wank and Lisa Clark are February's featured artists at the Antioch Fine Arts Foundation. AFAF is a not-for-profit organization active in promoting the visual arts.
Liz Wank, a member for three years, combines handmade paper and pressed flowers into specialty cards, bookmarks, and framed botanical art. The simplicity of her elegant designs are her signature, apparent even in the collages she offers. Glass luminaries with pressed flowers decorating the three sides along with the above mentioned items may be previewed on her website: www.elizabethsflowers.com.
Lisa Clark, the current VP for AFAF, has a long history in the arts. Her imagination was encouraged early by her mom, an artist in her own right. The talent we see today covers a variety of mediums: oils, photography, altered art, jewelry, glass pins, cigar box decoupage, purses and hurricane candles.
The delicate beauty of these women's designs may be viewed at a special open house which is scheduled for Sunday, February 11Th from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the gallery where light refreshments will be served. Please join us.
March
Jim Brooksher will be the featured artist in the White Room for March at the Antioch Fine Arts Foundation. A not-for-profit organization, the AFAF is dedicated to the promotion of self-expression through the arts in Lake County and the surrounding suburbs.
Jim Brooksher's art mediums are watercolor and oils with the vividness and enhanced color of his works being his tradmark. An accomplished artist and romantic at heart, he seeks to depict the beauty of historical landmarks and actual places in a manner that makes one wish that "you were there."
A small reception including music and refreshments wil be held on Saturday, March 17th from 1:00pm - 4:00pm. Our gallery is located at 83 Main Street in Antioch, Illinois. For further information you may call 847-838-2274. Please visit our website: http://www.antiochfineartrs.org
