Watercolor
is a transparent media, applied to white paper, causing light
hitting the paper to reflect through the transparent paint. This
gives a watercolor its characteristic glow.
Beverly
primarily paints in watercolor, but occasionally uses mixed media.
"If
I do not get the glow in a watercolor, I draw on the painting
with acid free ink and highlight areas with an acrylic paint called
interference." Beverly was introduced to interference at an art
workshop that she took several years ago. She prefers to use it,
as a wash. painting it on the watercolor while retaining the underpainting.
Beverly
is a Wisconsin artist. She belongs to several art leagues including
AFAF.
She
has taught beginning watercolor classes locally.
"I
believe that painting is an expression of the mind and soul. I
choose to paint to express and share my appreciation and vision
of the great beauty that God has given us in nature. This is the
reason I am primarily a landscape and floral painter."
