Catherine Nash grew up on the northwest side of Chicago. Her love of art had its beginnings watching her father paint signs. Catherine attended the Chicago Academy of Fine Art studying commercial art and fashion illustration, which resulted in a life-long interest in drawing and painting people using the media of watercolor, pastel and oils. Her involvement with the La Grange Art League introduced her to Alla Jablokow in 1990 and her love affair with watercolor began.

Catherine continues to study, taking and giving workshops, discussing and teaching all aspects of watercolor painting. She has been awarded signature status in the Transparent Watercolor Society of America and currently shows her work locally and nationally.
