Virginia
Morrisseau
Although Morrisseau began studies at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts
School at age nine and maintained her interest in art throughout
the years, an early passion for science lead her into an engineering
career and, eventually, her own consulting firm.
After
focusing on wax and pigment techniques of encaustic painting in
recent years and producing a growing series award-winning works,
Morrisseau is setting her sites on full time devotion to the arts.
"My
abstractions represent a symbolic personal language ... the figurative
subjects that I pursue are happenings which develop during the encaustic
process."
Morrisseau
offers workshops through AFAF in the encaustic process.
She
was recently featured in a one person show at the Lemon Street Gallery
in Kenosha, WI.
Her
work is included in Lake Villa Library's Art Collection.
