Wal-Mart Supercenter PHOTO LAB: At the Photo Lab, either you or they can SCAN YOUR PRINTS. They can also scan your negs, or slides, then burn all the resulting digital files to CD! Slides must be the rectangle slides and not the older square ones. They say that their state-of-the-art equipment is very good with color accuracy, but a negative can offer even better color accuracy than a print. They charge .29 per scan (minimum of 12, and up to 100 images per CD). Be sure that all your images are rotated to the correct orientation before they burn the CD! You can also get prints from your digital cameras. They have more extensive online services. You can send them your digital images, order prints and photo gifts online for delivery to your local Wal-Mart store. YOUR OWN ARTWORK (or photos) can now be easily put onto calendars, frames, magnets, mousepads, mugs, ornaments, plates, posters (up to 36" x 48"), puzzles, stickers, T-shirts, gift tags, cards for any occasion: Holiday cards, "Baby's First" cards, birth announcements, birthday cards, thank you cards, wedding cards, folded greeting cards, etc. Located at Route 173 & Deep Lake Rd. in Antioch (847) 838-3410.
Wolf Camera: At their store, they can scan your prints, negs, or slides, color correct the scans, then put the resulting digital files on CD for you. They charge .29 for each scan from 4 x 6 pictures, and/or .75 per slide scan ($15 minimum). The turnaround time is 24 hours. Walgreens: At their photo center you can scan your prints and burn them to CD for $2.99 per CD. Slides and negs can be scanned for $3.99 for first 10 and .39 each after that. Phone: (847) 395-0400
US Post Office Online: You can create and send postcards, letters, and greeting cards with YOUR OWN IMAGES on them... and do it all online. USPS Online even mails them out for you! The glossy postcards yield beautiful high-quality images. Besides being convenient and fun for greetings, invitations, or announcements, these could be a great marketing tool.
