Save-a-Pet "Second Chance" Raffle!


Beautiful, cuddly stuffed polar bear raffle is not over! Tickets are $1, the member of the board who won the raffle has donated it back to extend the fundraising. The drawing will be held on January 29th. Winner need not be present. It's a second chance raffle, so those who have their tickets in there will get a second go at it, and those who haven't had a chance yet, please stop in to buy a ticket! If you would like to purchase a block of tickets online, simply select "donate" on the website using either your paypal or credit card make a donation and for every dollar you donate a ticket will be placed in the raffle bucket. You don't have to leave home to be part of this fundraiser!

AFAF's talented members cover the spectrum of artistic media. Whether you work with clay or collage, pastel or pencil, oil or watercolor, sculpture or digital photography, you're sure to find answers here!

AFAF to Hold First Annual People's Choice Exhibit!


The Antioch Fine Arts Foundation is holding its First Annual People's Choice Award Exhibit during the Month of February at the Gallery!

The competiton is open to AFAF members, Board members and non-members!

Featured will be two- and three-dimensional artwork, including paintings, photographs, sculpture, mosaics, jewelry and more! Awards totalling $350 will be up for grabs: $100, $50 and $25 for each of these two sections. Vote for the People's ChoiceThere is a five dollar entry fee per artwork with a maximum of two pieces per entrant. Entries must be dropped off at the Gallery during normal business hours on January 28th, 29th or 30th.

Entry forms are available at the Gallery or can be downloaded here. Simply fill it out and attach it to your work. Ballots will be available in the Gallery's White Room, they must be signed by the voter and deposited into the locked ballot box. Ballots will be counted by two members of the AFAF board and one non-Board member. As stated above, you don't have to be an AFAF member to enter. The contest is open to all AFAF members, including those on the Board, and all non-members, as well. Members will pay 1/2 the normal commission on any works sold during the exhibition; the commission rate for non-members will be 30%.

Voting is open to the public! Tell your friends and family to drop by and cast their ballots! There is one vote allowed per visitor or member. Voting ends at 12:00 noon on Sunday, February 26th. A reception will be held that same day at 1:00 pm at which time all six awards will be presented (First through third place for both the two-dimensional and three dimensional categories).

PEOPLE'S CHOICE VOTING:
Easy process:
  1. Visit the Gallery
  2. Ask the volunteer who is working for a ballot (you will sign a sheet to get the ballot)
  3. Fill out the ballot noting the number assigned to the piece(s) you like (each piece of labeled for ease of identifying)
  4. Drop your ballot in the box!

New AFAF Classes Starting Soon!


Diane Bates iis continuing her classes for preteens and young adults and she encourages new students to join! Students can develop their skills through traditional training and practice. Master the fundamental skills of drawing and painting in oil. Classes are ongoing, meeting on Monday or Tuesday 6:30 pm until 8:30 pm. A supply list will be provided. Cost - $15 per class. Marjie Krutsch will hold a hands-on class introducing students to the basics of stained glass which includes choosing glass, cutting, foiling, soldering and finishing. All materials are included and experienced students are welcome to come and work with fellow artists in a group atmosphere. Contact Marjie at marjie1@comcast.net.

Need Some Art? Searching for an Artist?

Do you need an artist to paint a mural on a living room wall? Are you searching for someone to create a one-of-a-kind sculpture for your garden? Now you can find one--with a little help from the Antioch Fine Arts Foundation!

Just click on the Member Profiles link in the left sidebar menu. Once on the Profiles page, you'll see two dropdown lists. Choose the media type in which you're interested (oil, acrylic, sculpture, &c.) from the first dropdown. Then select the artist specializing in that medium from the second dropdown. Their profile and contact information will appear on screen. The information is constantly being updated, too!

So when you're ready to beautify your home or acquire a one-of-a-kind gift for a loved one, the AFAF is ready to help you achieve your goal!
